Please visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.radolca.si\/\"><strong>www.Radolca.si<\/strong><\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.slovenia.info\/sl\"><strong>www.Slovenia.info<\/strong><\/a> for more detailed and updated versions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>OUR TIP<\/strong> \u2013 check the current opening times, weather and road conditions before you set off.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Radovljica<\/strong>, a medieval town with a moat tunnel and views of the Karavanke mountains and the Julian Alps, is known today under the label \u2018Radol&#8217;ca \u2013 <strong>Honestly<\/strong> <strong>Sweet\u2019<\/strong>. The tradition of beekeeping and honey has been supplemented by new sweet experiences. Radol\u2019ca has become a real capital of beekeeping and <strong>chocolate.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h5 class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Linhart square &#8211; a great place to spend a rainy day or a relaxed evening<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Visit <strong>Linhart Square,<\/strong> the heart of the old town of Radovljica, a charming medieval square with picturesque houses and a magnificent mansion. Cycle along quiet country lanes and side roads. Lesce and Bled are also <b>linked by a bike path.<\/b> Road cyclists seeking more demanding rides will enjoy the challenge of cycling up to Jamnik or to the Pokljuka plateau.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">WELL WORTH A DRIVE\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.velikaplanina.si\/en\/\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">VELIKA PLANINA<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A magical <strong>mountain plateau<\/strong> with one of the largest <strong>herdsmens\u2019 settlements<\/strong> in Europe, where you can learn about the fascinating life on the plateau and sample the<strong> dairy products produced<\/strong> on its pastures. Take a walk through the meadows\u00a0 across the plateau. 50 kilometres from Radovljica + cable car.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/brdo.si\/en\/objekti\/strmol-castle\/\"><span class=\"s1\">COFFEE TIME AT STRMOL CASTLE AND A VISIT TO BRDO PARK<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">One of the oldest and best-preserved castles in Slovenia. The wealthy industrialist Rado Hribar and his wife were the former owners of the castle. Rado had a small golf course in the grounds of the castle and his wife had a very unusual pet. They had a large art collection including the famous Slovenian Kofetarica painting (a lady who drinks coffee) by Ivana Kobilica, which you can see in the piano room where you can experience the story and enjoy a classic tea party.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Reservations required\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">35 kilometres from Radovljica<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.odprtakuhna.si\/en\/\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">LJUBLJANA\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">We suggest visiting <strong>Ljubljana by train<\/strong>. Walk through the beautiful city and\/or <strong>take a boat<\/strong> and relax while admiring the colourful houses from the<strong> Ljubljanica<\/strong> River. A visit to the market is a \u2018must\u2019, and on Fridays you can taste some of the best street food from all over Slovenia at the <strong>Open Kitchen<\/strong> (April to October in sunny weather) in Poga\u010dar Square (Pogacarjev trg).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">45 kilometres from Radovljica<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/kranjska-gora.si\/\"><span class=\"s1\">KRANJSKA GORA and LAKE JASNA<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">Take a dip in the ice-cold water of the <strong>crystal-clear mountain lake<\/strong>, surrounded by the most beautiful<strong> alpine scenery. Visit Planica<\/strong>, one of the largest ski jumping centres in the world, where you can make a descent by zipline above the ski jump ramps, including the largest one in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">Take a walk to the<strong> Zelenci nature reserve,<\/strong> where you can see the source of the Sava Dolinka river.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">30 kilometres from Radovljica<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.visit-idrija.si\/en\/\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">On the Path of Iron Forging and Lacemaking\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Drive to <strong>Kropa<\/strong> beneath the Jelovica plateau, stopping enroute in <strong>Kamna Gorica<\/strong> for a short walk through the village. Continue up to Jamnik \u2013 a small church with breathtaking views of Gorenjska. You will pass the <strong>village of Dra\u017ego\u0161e<\/strong>, home to an important World War II monument, where you can stop and enjoy the peace.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Continue to <strong>\u017delezniki<\/strong> and onwards through small village towards<strong> Idrija.<\/strong> Walk through the town of Idrija \u2013 a <strong>UNESCO heritage pearl<\/strong>. Try some traditional <strong>zlikrofi<\/strong> \u2013 handmade mini pasta dumplings filled with potatoes and bacon. Visit the mercury mine, and buy some handmade lace. Visit the <strong>Franja Partisan Hospital.<\/strong> Drive back through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitskofjaloka.si\/en\/\"><strong>\u0160kofja loka<\/strong><\/a>, where you can stop for a walk in the historic old town and walk up to the castle. We recommend the following restaurants along the way:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Gostilna\u00a0 pri Danilu***** Rete\u010de near \u0160kofja Loka\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Na vasi*** Zminc\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Allow 2 hours for the drive there (return trip cca. 4 hours) The road through \u0160kofja loka is better and faster, so if you are short and time, you can go there and back the same way.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">STREET FOOD and TAKEAWAY FOOD\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">Not really Slovenian but we love it!
